My First Audition... Ever!!

In keeping to my dream of being a famous movie star and hopefully winning an Oscar, I went to my first audition ever a few months ago. The role was for a lead character in a T.V. movie and it pretty much follows a dork who ends up going out with the prettiest, most popular girl at school (my character, Summer) and how he has to change to be a part of her fabulous life. Since I'm 17 and not of legal age to audition without a parent or legal guardian present, my mom came with me. I memorized my lines and was totally pumped for the screen test but since we made it early, my mom bought a bag of gummy bears so that she had something to eat during her wait. As I made my way in front of the camera, I noticed how UNBELIEVABLY hot the other guy was and, obviously, got a little nervous (he looked like an Abercrombie model!!). Halfway through my lines (as if it wasn't enough pressure to have instant chemistry with a guy I didn't know, I had to cry on cue) I heard an obnoxious crunching that threw me off completely. That crunching noise lasted for the entire screen test and when I found out where that noise was coming from, I immediately wished that I hadn't. Apparently, when I came into the screen test room and was introducing myself to the director, my mom snuck into the room and huddled in a corner so that she was in no one's way. She clearly saw no problem with eating the gummy bears in the middle of my lines right when I was trying to get into the crying and since the director gave me THREE other shots at the same lines (I was so embarrassed!) my mom kept crunching the gummy bear bag (on the last shot, she was folding the bag) so it came to no surprise that I didn't get that role. Next time I go to an audition and my mom comes, she's eating before we get to the office.
